Taxonomy
Dombarocanites was named by Ruzhencev (1949) [Sepkoski's age data: C Vise-u C Serp-u Sepkoski's reference number: 304,1251]. It is not extant. Its type is Dombarocanites chancharensis.

It was assigned to Prolecanitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Prolecanitinae by Korn (2006) and Furnish et al. (2009); and to Prolecanitidae by Titus (2000) and Korn and Sudar (2016).
