Taxonomy
Archimesotipula antefortis was named by Lin (1986). Its type specimen is NIGP 70081, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is KHG 201, Xiwan coal mine, Hezhou City, which is in a Toarcian terrestrial mudstone in the Shiti Formation of China. It is the type species of Archimesotipula.
