Sauropareion anoplus
Taxonomy
Sauropareion anoplus was named by Modesto et al. (2001). Its type specimen is SAM PK-11192, a partial skeleton (cranium, partial mandible, partial cervical vertebral series, a disarticulated dorsal neural arch, pectoral girdle elements, and left humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Barendskraal Farm, which is in an Induan/Olenekian terrestrial mudstone in the Balfour Formation of South Africa.
