Xenodiphyodon petraios
Taxonomy
Xenodiphyodon petraios was named by Sues and Olsen (1993). Its type specimen is USNM 448631, a mandible (incomplete right dentary with nine teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tomahawk locality, USNM 39981, which is in a Carnian lacustrine - small mudstone in the Vinita Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Xenodiphyodon.
