Taxonomy
Stegocoelia quadricostata was named by Chronic (1952). Its type specimen is Mus N. Ariz G2.2983, a shell (Articulated shell), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Bottomless Pits, Bed 2, Kaibab Formation, Walnut Canyon, which is in a Roadian shallow subtidal limestone in the Kaibab Formation of Arizona.
