Anotoceras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Indu-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Prosphingites nala.
It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Otoceratidae by Spath (1934), Tozer (1981) and Korn (2006).
