Taxonomy
Arctohungarites was named by Diener (1916) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Arctohungaritidae.

It was assigned to Hungaritidae by McLearn (1969); to Danubitidae by Tozer (1981); to Czekanowskitinae by Tozer (1994); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Arctohungaritidae by Brayard et al. (2009).
