Arctoptychites was named by Archipov et al. (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychitidae by Tozer (1981) and Tozer (1994); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
