Taxonomy
Argosirenites was named by Popov (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Sirenites argonautae.

It was assigned to Trachyceratidae by Okuneva et al. (1977); to Cyrtopleuritidae by Tatzreiter (1981); to Sirenitinae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
