Lobalopex mordax
Taxonomy
Lobalopex mordax was named by Sidor et al. (2004). Its type specimen is GCP/1/61, a skull (incl. lower jaws with parts of the first four cervical vertebrae in articulation), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quaggas Fontein 250, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial mudstone in the Teekloof Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Lobalopex.
