Taxonomy
Arpadites was named by Mojsisovics (1879) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites arpadis. It is the type genus of Arpaditidae, Arpaditinae.

It was reranked as Clionites (Arpadites) by Mojsisovics (1893).

It was assigned to Clionites by Mojsisovics (1893); to Arpaditidae by Spath (1951); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Arpaditinae by Tozer (1981) and Urlichs (2017).
