Beatites was named by Arthaber (1911) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Beatites berthae.
It was assigned to Aspenitinae by Spath (1934); to Hedenstroemiidae by Kummel (1969); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aspenitidae by Tozer (1981) and Brayard et al. (2009).
