Bathygalea (Bathygalea) pilsbryi was named by Woodring and Olsson (1957) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; Ecuador.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is ANSP 153618, a shell.

It was recombined as Phalium pilsbryi by Skoglund (1990); it was recombined as Echinophoria pilsbryi by Beu (2008).
