Taxonomy
Cassis (Bezoardica) wyvillei was named by Watson (1886). It is extant. Its type specimen is BMNH 1887.2.9.1259, a shell.

It was recombined as Galeodea wyvillei by Clench (1944); it was recombined as Semicassis wyvillei by Kuroda and Habe (1952); it was recombined as Echinophoria wyvillei by Beu (2008).
