Turbo groenlandicus was named by Perry (1811). It is extant.

It was recombined as Scalaria groenlandica by Wood (1848); it was recombined as Epitonium (Boreoscala) greenlandicum by Durham (1937); it was recombined as Epitonium greenlandicum by Hendy (2007).
