Cuccoceras was named by Diener (1907) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Balatonitidae by Spath (1951) and Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
