Taxonomy
Brandonia was named by Bonaparte (1990). Its type is Brandonia intermedia. It is the type genus of Brandoniidae.
It was assigned to Spalacotheriidae by Bonaparte (1990); to Brandoniidae by Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004); and to Dryolestoidea by Rougier et al. (2009).
