Anomopterellidae was named by Rasnitsyn (1975). It is not extant. Its type is Anomopterella.
It was reranked as the subfamily Anomopterellinae by Rasnitsyn (1990) and Zhang and Rasnitsyn (2008).
It was assigned to Apocrita by Carpenter (1992); to Praeaulacidae by Rasnitsyn (1990) and Zhang and Rasnitsyn (2008); and to Evanioidea by Rasnitsyn (1975), Li et al. (2013), Li et al. (2014), Engel (2017) and Li et al. (2018).
It was reranked as the subfamily Anomopterellinae by Rasnitsyn (1990) and Zhang and Rasnitsyn (2008).
