Eodanubites was named by Wang (1978) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Eodanubites xinyuanensis.

It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Danubitidae by Tozer (1981), Shigeta and Nguyen (2014) and Ehiro (2022).
