Kingopora ehrenbergi
Taxonomy
Gorgonia ehrenbergi was named by Geinitz (1846). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Buchenberg, Possneck, Thuringen, which is in a Wuchiapingian reef, buildup or bioherm dolomite in the Zechstein Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Phyllopora ehrenbergi by King (1849), King (1850), Geinitz (1861) and Mansuy (1912); it was recombined as Phyllopora ehrenbergii by Langenhan (1899); it was recombined as Protoretepora ehrenbergi by Dreyer (1961); it was recombined as Kingopora ehrenbergi by Morozova (1970) and Ernst (2001).
