Ceriostella variabilis

Taxonomy
Ceriostella variabilis was named by Roniewicz and Stanley (1998). Its type specimen is UMIP 18056 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed SC18, South Canyon, New Pass Range, which is in a Longobardian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Augusta Formation of Nevada. It is the type species of Ceriostella.
