Glamocites was named by Diener (1917) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Glamocites katzeri.

It was assigned to Clionitidae by Spath (1951); to Sandlingitidae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
