Hyolithes daphnis
Taxonomy
Hyolithes daphnis was named by Walcott (1905) [COMMENTS: Poor preservation of type specimens for this species renders it's diagnosis incomplete and it's generic identifications doubtful. That specimen is a poorly preserved steinkern with scattered fragments of weathered shell adhering to it, and no features of the exterior of the shell, such as growth lirae, are preserved. Both the apertural and apical ends of the specimen are missing, so that the ligula and apertural rim are unknown.]. It is a 3D body fossil.
