Halilucites was named by Diener (1905) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Ceratites (Hungarites) rusticus.

It was reranked as Eutomoceras (Halilucites) by Smith (1914).

It was assigned to Eutomoceras by Smith (1914); to Ceratitidae by Spath (1951); to Paraceratitinae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
