Changpeipus bartholomaii was named by Haubold (1971). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is Westvale No. 5 Colliery tracksite, which is in a Jurassic terrestrial coal in the Walloon Coal Measures Formation of Australia.
