Iberites was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Ladi-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Hungaritidae by Spath (1951), Tozer (1981) and Fantini Sestini (1994); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
