Ismidites was named by Arthaber (1915) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Ptychitidae by Spath (1951); to Khvalynitinae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
