Taxonomy
Klipsteinia was named by Mojsisovics (1892) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites (Ceratites) achelous.

It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Arpaditidae by Spath (1951) and Lukeneder and Lukeneder (2014); and to Arpaditinae by Tozer (1981) and Urlichs (2017).
