Taxonomy
Mathilda coxi was named by Abbass (1962). Its type specimen is SM B.27336, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Atherfield, Isle of Wright [Lower Greensand], which is in an Aptian coastal sandstone in the Lower Greensand Formation of the United Kingdom.
