Miltites was named by Mojsisovics (1893) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Miltites rastli.

It was assigned to Haloritidae by Smith (1927) and Spath (1951); to Juvavitinae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
