Taxonomy
Anomodon snyderi was named by Leconte (1848). Its type specimen is ANSP 11631, a tooth (canine), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Galena (Snyder Collection), which is in a Pleistocene karst sandstone in Illinois. It is the type species of Anomodon.
