Tibetites (Neotibetites) was named by Krumbeck (1913). It is not extant. Its type is Neotibetites weteringi.

It was reranked as Neotibetites by Spath (1951), Tozer (1981), Tozer (1994) and Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Tibetites by Krumbeck (1913); to Tibetitidae by Spath (1951) and Tozer (1981); to Tibetitinae by Tozer (1994); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
