Noridiscites was named by Spath (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-m Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Ceratites viator.

It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Noridiscitidae by Spath (1951), Tozer (1981) and Krystyn et al. (2019).
