Taxonomy
Egretta subfluvia was named by Becker (1985). Its type specimen is UF 19001, a limb element (right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Withlacoochee River Site 4A, which is in a Hemphillian pond claystone in Florida.
