Paracladiscites was named by Mojsisovics (1896) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites multilobatus.
It was assigned to Cladiscitidae by von Mojsisovics (1896), Spath (1951) and Tozer (1981); to Cladiscitinae by Gamsjäger (1982); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
