Taxonomy
Micrabacia cribraria was named by Stephenson (1916). Its type locality is USGS 5354/USGS 4136, Whiteley Creek Landing, which is in a Campanian coastal sandstone in the Black Creek Formation of North Carolina.
It was recombined as Stephanophyllia cribraria by Baron-Szabo (2008).
