Taxonomy
Apocladophyllia gozdensis was named by Turnsek et al. (2003). Its type locality is Gozd, Trnovski Gozd Plateau, patch reef, which is in a Pliensbachian platform/shelf-margin reef reef rocks in Slovenia.

It was recombined as Dichopsammia gozdensis by Baron-Szabo (2009).
