Taxonomy
Watinoceras reesidei was named by Warren (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Watinoceras.

It was synonymized subjectively with Watinoceras (Watinoceras) coloradoense by Cooper (1978); it was synonymized subjectively with Watinoceras amudariense by Wright et al. (1996).
