Taxonomy
Ammonites laperousianus was named by Whiteaves (1876) [TYPE SPECIMEN: Based on lectotype.]. Its type specimen is GSC 4960, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Parasilesites laperousianus by McLearn (1972) and Alabushev (1995).
