Calophyllum columnare
Taxonomy
Coralliolites columnaris was named by von Schlotheim (1813). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Schmerbach, Gothaischen, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Zechstein Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Geinitzella columnaris by Tschernyschew and Stepanow (1916) and Riedel (1917); it was recombined as Calophyllum columnare by Weyer (1984), Fedorowski and Bamber (2001) and Chwieduk (2007).
