Pseudotibetites was named by Tozer (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. Its type is Pseudotibetites pax.

It was replaced with Wangoceras by Tozer (1980).

It was assigned to Sirenitinae by Tozer (1980); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
