Taxonomy
Morrowites subdepressus was named by Cobban and Hook (1983). Its type specimen is USNM 328722, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is USGS Loc. D11208, Fence Lake [Mancos Shale], which is in a Turonian marine shale in the Mancos Shale Formation of New Mexico.
