Taxonomy
Sibirites was named by Mojsisovics (1886) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Sibiritidae.

It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Sibiritidae by von Mojsisovics (1896), Spath (1934), Kummel (1969), Tozer (1981), Dagys (1997) and Guex et al. (2010).
