Watinoceras coloradoense
Taxonomy
Acanthoceras coloradoensis was named by Henderson (1908). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bridge Creek Limestone, Greenhorn Fm, which is in a Turonian marine limestone in the Greenhorn Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Watinoceras (Watinoceras) coloradoense by Cooper (1978); it was recombined as Watinoceras coloradoense by Cobban (1983), Chancellor et al. (1994), Stelck et al. (2002), Gale et al. (2005), Ifrim and Stinnesbeck (2007), Wilmsen and Nagm (2013) and Wilmsen and Nagm (2014).
It was recombined as Watinoceras (Watinoceras) coloradoense by Cooper (1978); it was recombined as Watinoceras coloradoense by Cobban (1983), Chancellor et al. (1994), Stelck et al. (2002), Gale et al. (2005), Ifrim and Stinnesbeck (2007), Wilmsen and Nagm (2013) and Wilmsen and Nagm (2014).
