Platychoerops richardsoni
Taxonomy
Platychoerops richardsoni was named by Charlesworth (1855). Its type specimen is York Museum 520, a maxilla (palate with second and third true molars of both sides, and on the right side the fourth premolar and alveoli of pm3 and m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Herne Bay (London Clay), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the London Clay Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Platychoerops.
