Tjururpites was named by Shevyrev (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Tjururpites costatus.
It was assigned to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Olenikitidae by Tozer (1981) and Zakharov and Popov (2014).
