Qianosuchus was named by Li et al. (2006). Its type is Qianosuchus mixtus. It was considered monophyletic by Nesbitt (2011).
It was assigned to Crurotarsi by Li et al. (2006); and to Poposauroidea by Nesbitt (2011).
