Taxonomy
Valdedorsella whiteavesi was named by Imlay (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 130145, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alaska, Kennicott Formation, USGS Mes. loc. 9492, which is in an Albian marginal marine sandstone in Alaska.
