Tunglanites was named by Zhao (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Paranannitidae by Kummel (1969); to Columbitidae by Tozer (1981); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Paragoceratidae by Brayard et al. (2009).
