Pecten gramamensis was named by Maury (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Right bank of Rio Gramame (Sphenodiscus zone), which is in a Maastrichtian/Maastrichtian carbonate limestone in the Gramame Formation of Brazil.
